Mary J. Etter Library - Building Renaming Celebration In-Person
The South Windsor Public Library will soon bear the name of its esteemed former director, Mary J. Etter, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the community.
Weather permitting, the event will take place outside in front of the awning by the lower entrance of the building. After remarks from Mayor Audrey Delnicki and Library Board of Directors Chairperson Kathleen-Mary Sharos, a veil will be removed to reveal the sign for the Mary J. Etter Public Library. Afterwards, light refreshments will be served in the Library’s Friends Room.
Under Etter’s leadership, from 1984 to 2023, the library flourished as a hub for literacy, education, and community engagement. Etter additionally oversaw a large addition to the building in 1992.
