Booked for Lunch is a free program that invites a local author or speaker to present their work or present their thoughts on a current book. Guests are welcomed to bring a bagged lunch to enjoy during the program.

After reporting his concerns to the politically connected but incompetent chief state’s attorney, the whistleblower finds himself a target of reprisal. Investigated, transferred, demoted, and threatened, Dillon hires an attorney, and—with the assistance of legendary whistleblower Frank Serpico—takes on both the state of Connecticut and the Department of Justice in federal court, resulting in an explosive verdict and a significant court ruling.

Greg Dillon, after graduating first in his class from the police academy, joined the Branford Police Department in 1978 before becoming an FBI special agent in 1985. After working on the Criminal Reactive Squad in Alexandria, VA, then on the Violent Crime Squad and SWAT team in Washington, D.C., he left to take a position in 1990 as an inspector in the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney in his home state of Connecticut. During his 30-plus year law enforcement career, the author received numerous commendations and awards before retiring as a supervisory inspector in 2009. He currently sits on the Shepherds board of directors. Shepherds is a non-denominational, non-profit organization assisting inner-city high school students by providing financial support for a college preparatory education at a non-public high school, an adult mentor, and teaching academic and life skills. Greg joined Shepherds in 2002 and has mentored nine students to date.
